We may encounter hard snow or ice on this high ridge early season, but it will depend on how much new snow falls in the 2 weeks prior to trip date.  Views should be great if visibility is good.  The route is almost all off trail, which will make it more strenuous, so I am estimating T4.

Required Equipment

Required Equipment

  • The Ten Essentials
  • Helmet
  • Mountaineering Boots
  • Ice Axe
  • UPDATE 3/23/15 Crampons, microspikes, or snowshoes are required.  I suspect snowshoes may be overkill given the lack of recent heavy snow, but bring some form of traction.  If you do not have any, let me know as I may be able to help.
