This peak is seldom visited primarily due to the difficulty of accessing it.  Expect about 1.5 hours of rough road each way from North Bend including some huge potholes and sketchy washed out areas.  High clearance vehicles are essential.

It's about 9 miles and 3800' gain.

The trip is on a weekend to avoid logging trucks.  I have been attempting to verify with the forest service that the road is currently passable.  It would only go if avy danger was moderate or less on the terrain we would be traveling, and the outlook was for good visibility.  On remote drives like this I like to bring a small chainsaw in case any small trees obstruct our exit.  If the weather is not conducive, backup date is Sunday 4/26.
Much of the route follows abandoned roads which hopefully will be snow covered to lessen the brush.  The final ascent is relatively steep snow necessitating ice axe.  We will likely bring snowshoes unless conditions elsewhere around those dates indicate they aren't needed.
Here are photos from a prior trip showing the stupendous views to be had:
When asking leader's permission, please confirm that you anticipate an early start and late return, that you have the current fitness for a strenuous trip and the patience to go at a slower pace than many scrambles, indicate whether you are available for the backup date of 4/26, and advise whether you have a high-clearance 4WD vehicle with which you are willing to venture on a storm-damaged road.

TBD but ungodly early in North Bend
