Alpine Scramble - Devil's Head
Devil's Head in the Teanaway is a moderate to strenuous scramble of 8 miles and 3,400 feet of elevation gain to a rounded peak at the end of the ridge going north from Bean Peak. Named for its elevation, 6,666 ft. Hopefully we’ll get some good snow travel on this trip.

Meet at the Beverly Creek TH by 8:30 a.m. Distance from the Seattle 65th Park & Ride is 115 miles and the driving time is 2 hour 20 minutes. I recommend leaving by 6:10 am. Driving directions: Drive I-90 east from Snoqualmie Pass to exit 85. Go to the north side of the freeway and take Hwy 970 north. Turn left on the Teanaway River Road. Drive past 29 Pines CG and continue for four miles on gravel road to the Beverly Creek road. Turn right and follow to trailhead (elevation 3240').
Hike the Beverly Creek trail .4 mile to the first junction, turn right up Bean Creek. Hike about 3 miles to Bean Creek Basin. Leave the trail at second creek crossing (5100') and head up the basin. Aim for the right shoulder of Bean Peak. On the other side of Bean, drop into the basin separating Bean Peak and Volcanic Neck. Follow the ridge past the right shoulder of Volcanic Neck to the summit of Devils Head. We will assess returning by a different route via the Bill's-Mary saddle.
Bring sandals in case they are needed for stream crossing
