5 AM: Meet up at Tukwila Park and Ride (13445 Interurban Ave S, Tukwila, WA 98168)

This is a picturesque snow scramble in Mount Rainier National Park. The pace on the scramble will be moderate, with a focus on keeping everyone together.

A detailed planning email will be sent out a few days before the scramble.

Required Equipment

Required Equipment

  • National Parks pass (if driving)
  • 10 essentials
  • 2-3 liters of water and plenty of food
  • Ice Axe
  • Helmet
  • Mountaineering boots
  • Extra clothing (please use the 2016 Alpine Scrambling Course guide for reference as to what layers to bring if this is your first scramble)
  • Emergency seat harness
  • Traction (Microspikes, crampons, yak tracks, etc. I'll be bringing Microspikes, personally. Please let me know if you don't have any traction options; I may be able to lend you a pair)
  • Pants appropriate for glissading (or an extra garbage bag to protect pants from wear and tear)
  • Snowshoes (please let me know if you do not have these; I may be able to lend you a pair)
