A scramble in one of the most scenic areas of the park to visit a seldom visited peak.

  • Pace: moderate, 1,000 feet an hour.

6 am Summerland trailhead.

This will be a scramble of Central Cowlitz chimney.  Due to rock fall hazard the group size will be kept to a small group of experienced scramblers.  Pace for the day will be moderate on the way in, around 1,000 feet an hour of elevation gain.  We will  take a short break, 3 to 5 minutes every hour.  If conditions are right and the group wants we may detour over Banshee peak on the way in or out.
