appx 9:30 am the White Pine Creek Trailhead. Carpool arrangements will be coordinated by leader.
Destination has been changed due to extensive snowpack. Heading to explore Big Chiwaukum and/or Snowgrass Mountain. Friday is no longer part of this trip. I'm leaving three days listed to provide some flexibility for weather and in case we decide to spend two nights and attempt both.
Day 1, meet at Whitepine Creek trailhead and hike in to camp. After 2.5 miles take left onto Wildhorse Creek trail to Camp (destination dependent on local snow conditions); could be 4-7 miles. Camping location will likely be in snow. Bring extra fuel for melting snow for water.
Day 2 scramble either Big Chiwaukum or Snowgrass. Please review websites and/or Smoot's Climbing Washington's Mountains for route information. Return to camp, pack-up and return to trailhead.
No students on this exploratory trip, please.
