  • Challenging
  • Mileage: 8.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 3,900 ft

We will meet at the Beverly Creek TH at 8 am the morning of the scramble.  If you are driving over the morning of please give yourself plenty of time to get there.

This scramble is reserved for Seattle Scramble students.  If it does not fill up by the Thursday before I will open it to everyone.

Did you want to do this scramble during the Experience FT but didn't make it on?  Do you want to challenge yourself physically?  Do you love scrambling on rock?  Do you like to have fun in the back country?  If you answered yes to all of the above then this could be the trip for you!

This is a challenging and fun scramble up a seldom visited peak in the beautiful Teanaway area.  On a clear day you can see all of the nearby peaks: Koppen, Hawkins, Esmeralda, Iron, Teanaway, and Stuart.  We will most likely go in via the Bean Creek trail then directly along the ridge to Volcanic Neck.  After summiting VN we can either go back the way we came or choose one of the many options that are available out there.  Please do your research (look at a map, trip reports, etc.) ahead of time so we can have an informed discussion on the day of.

The standard route will take 4-6 hours but be prepared to spend a little more time for a little more adventure.
