Both Bean and VN involve moderate-plus exposure for a scramble, Bean on generally solid rock, VN with some looser rock and dirt/scree. Please be sure you are comfortable with the pace and level of exposure before signing up. Depending on party pace and interest, we may investigate the Beanlets on the way in and the Bean-Mary Traverse (sporty) on the way out. Please note that for students this trip will count as a graduation-qualifying summit so long as you attain the peak of Bean in good style (where one of our assistant leaders is willing to hang out with any party members who do not wish to undertake the additional challenge of Volcanic Neck). Update: the ass't leader in question will be withdrawing off the trip to take some time for some homefront maintenance. This won't really change the Bean option, except that anyone not enthusiastic about summitting VN may have to accompany us at least to the base of that peak. And I'll change the numbers around to open up an additional "main" slot, so if you have any friends, get 'em to sign up!
