  • Moderate, Technical 2
  • Casual
  • Mileage: 8.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 3,400 ft
  • Pace: 1,100ft/hr

Leaving Ira Spring TH at 4PM.  NW Forest Pass required

Current year Foothills Scrambling Students are welcome to register immediately.  Open to everyone beginning 7/25.

Let's maximize the long, dry and warm days while we have them!

Evening scramble to the true summit of Bandera. Leader is recovering from a medical procedure, so please expect the pace to be casual. Appx. 3,400ft of gain, aiming to reach the top in ~3 hours, back to the cars between 9 and 9:30PM, before the twilight completely disappears on us.  That said, please make sure to bring your headlamp.

If the weather stays like as nice as it has been, the views from the top should be pretty amazing!  However, if we get unlucky and it rains on the day-of, trip will be canceled since we have to cross a boulder field to get to the true summit.
