4:30 PM at Exit 20 on I-90
Our goal is otherwise known as Putrid Pete (Schoenig). The idea of after-hours scrambles is to do a regular scramble, meeting at High Point Way at 4:30 PM and (hopefully) getting back to a trail before we need to use headlamps. In mid-summer you can expect a late return. Because of the constraints of daylight and time, after-hours trips are a more difficult proposition than the same scramble would be done as a day trip an the likelihood of summitting is substantially less. While we will hardly be moving fast, the pace will be steady and breaks scant. If you're interested in a trip of this kind, by all means join us; after-hours scrambling can be very rewarding, with the beauties of the long sunsets and twilight and the chance to break up the work week.
