8:30 at North side Stevens Pass
This is a moderate snow scramble to a peak with (weather permitting) great views. Students are welcome! Once we are all at the pass (please be on time), we will consolidate our party into the fewest cars possible before driving the short distance to the real trail-head - a wide shoulder on Rt-2 with limited parking. Once registration closes, I will send you all an e-mail which will include an attached moderate-resolution map, including an estimated route. If this might be a problem for your e-mail account please let me know beforehand (it will be modest - ~200Kbytes). POSSIBLE DESTINATION CHANGE: As of mid-Thursday, the weather report for the Stevens Pass area is not looking very good. There's a chance that the pass may be getting some near-freezing rain on Sunday. Therefore I will be preparing an alternative destination a bit farther to the east. I'll post that destination by late Friday so that people can assess matters. When we meet at Steven's Pass we can collaboratively decide on what we'd like to do. Depending on distances I may bump our meeting time to be slightly earlier. If anyone has an interest in some moderate snow scramble that is likely to be dry, but not too far from Steven's Pass, you're welcome to e-mail that suggestion to me. [Arrowhead is still the primary goal, depending on weather and group interest.]
