Alpine Ambassadors-Hosted Rock Trips - Indian Creek, Utah

We will meet the evening of Thursday, April 16 near Hamburger Rock Campground in Indian Creek. We will camp on BLM land and thus the exact camp spot is to be determined.

We will climb Friday, Saturday and part of Sunday. Participants who wish to be back in Seattle by Sunday evening should make sure they can stay with the group till at least 1pm on Sunday. Participants are welcome to stay till Monday.

Alpine Ambassadors is a community of advanced climbers in The Mountaineers, who provide climbing growth and mentorship for top Mountaineers climbing volunteers, often beyond what typical Mountaineers courses offer. This trip is open to members of the Alpine Ambassadors and those striving to become members in the future.

The goal of the trip is for participants to improve their crack climbing abilities and to push their lead grade.  During the trip we will focus on improving the participants' crack technique, provide mentorship and discuss strategies how to push into new grades. In addition, participants  get to build community with volunteers from multiple branches during the day and at camp at night. 

Participants will be responsible for their own travel and travel related expenses. There will be no expenses for lodging as  we will be camping on BLM land.

An application is required to participate in trips hosted by the Alpine Ambassadors.  Applicants must be able to lead 5.8 trad and be able to top rope 5.10- as there are very few crags that are below 5.9 in Indian Creek. Applications will be accepted December 10, 2019 through January 31, 2020. Applicants will be notified by February 7 whether they have been accepted or not. The application process is the same whether the applicant is already a member of the Alpine Ambassadors or not.
