Butterfly Workshop

We will learn about butterfly identification, diversity, anatomy, phenology and the role of butterflies in the environment through lectures and field trips

Several topics will be included.

We will talk about the diversity of butterflies, including families, major groups, and a few of the most common species.

Anatomy of butterflies _ teaching students the lingo and how to use apps and field guides to identify unknown butterflies.

Role of butterflies in the environment _ everything from pollination to art.

How to find butterflies _ more about their use of the environment, movements, ecology, etc.

Caterpillars _ how to raise and watch metamorphosis

There will be learning activities within each lecture session.

Field trips will apply what we learn in class
