Adventure Speaker Series- Food For The Trail - Virginia Lang

Olympia Branch Meet the Mountaineers Adventure Speaker Series & Potluck featuring "Food For The Trail by Virginia Lang". Make food your favorite item of the 10 essentials! Learn the difference between a goji berry and a sultana raisin. Unravel the mysteries of buying in bulk at two of Thurston Count's best kept secrets, the Olympia Food Co-ops. You can save money and have the best food on the trail. Virginia Lange, of the Olympia Food Co-op, will bring samples and ideas for unique and wonderful foods for hiking and backpacking.

Who: All members and anyone interested in learning more about the Mountaineers are welcome.

What: The Monthly Meet the Mountaineers Adventure Speaker Presentation and Potluck. Bring a dish to share, your own plate and flatware. No paper tossing at our potlucks!

Where: Friends Meeting House, 3201 Boston Harbor Road. (From I-5, Plum Street, head north, left side, next to Priest Point Park)

When: The first Wednesday of the Month, September to May (excluding November), at 6:00 PM for a shared potluck and socializing hour, followed by an Outdoor Adventure Presentation at 7:00 PM

Why: Meet your fellow Mountaineers, share ideas, learn about others’ escapades and adventures, and connect with our great community of outdoor enthusiasts. (Librarian Maxine Dunkelman will have a selection of books available for checkout to Mountaineer Club members. Contact her at maxdunk@comcast.net if you have special requests.)
