CANCELED - Ozette Triangle Car Camp

Experience the splendor of the Ozette Triangle as a day hike, camping Saturday night at the spacious Lost Resort at Lake Ozette, where amenities include a store, potable water, a nice restroom and hot showers. Sunday we will hike the nine mile Ozette Triangle, taking us by Cape Alava, where we visit the Indian Museum, Wedding Rocks, where we see ancient petroglyphs and Sand Point, where we have a panoramic view of the coast from atop a small hill.

At the Lost Resort Campground the spacious campsites accommodate up to four people each and two cars for a cost of $25 per night.  The first person to arrive will secure and pay for the number of campsites needed for our campers and leave a note on the bulletin board by the store entrance stating where the campsite is located.  There are no campsite numbers for any of the 30 campsites.  As each person arrives, they will check the note to find the campsite and pay their share of the camp fee to the person who paid it.

After setting up camp, we will have a camp dinner together, followed by smores around the campfire.  Sunday morning we will have a camp breakfast, pack up camp and drive to the Ozette trailhead parking lot, where each car must display a National Park Pass.  At 9 AM we will start hiking first to Cape Alava, then the Indian Museum, Wedding Rocks (having lunch and viewing petroglyphs) and Sand Point, before returning to Ozette to complete the triangle.

On the drive home we have the option for a dinner stop at the Breakwater Cafe in Clallam Bay.

Signup for this car camp is by registering for the July 12 Ozette Triangle day hike.  Leader permission is required to determine who will camp at the Lost Resort Saturday night.
