Summer Camp - Ropes and Rocks Week - 2020

Youth Program

Summer Camp - Ropes and Rocks Week 1

A fun-filled camp week featuring lots of climbing and outdoor adventure!

Ready to climb? Ready to swim, learn outdoor skills, and hike? Most importantly...are you ready to ROCK? Then this is the week of camp is for you!

Campers ages 6-12 are invited to join The Mountaineers for a week packed with traditional camp games, songs and a heavy dose of outdoor adventure. Each week consists of rock climbing, outdoor skills, crafts, and swimming. Additionally, every week has a field trip, special activity, and/or outdoor adventure relating to the given theme.

During Ropes and Rocks week, campers will have the opportunity to try a variety of climbing techniques including bouldering, belaying, and rappelling. The younger campers (ages 6-8) will take a field trip to the outstanding Heybrook Lookout on Wednesday. This hike through beautiful moss and fern covered forest ends at a lookout structure featuring views of the Central Cascades. The older campers (9+) will take a field trip to the outdoor climbing area at Exit 38 on Thursday. It'll be a great way to put together all the climbing skills they learn during the week.
