  • Mileage: 1.2 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 200 ft
  • Pace: 1.5 - 2 mph

We will leave from the Lodge at 730pm and drive to Artist Point to start the hike.

This is a very short, social hike from Artist Point via Artist Ridge to Huntoon Point. We will stay at Huntoon Point for about 2 hours to enjoy the sunset over the mountains, gaze at the nightsky, and chill. There should be a near full moon and amazing stars on this weather dependent trip. Bring a sitting pad, sleeping bag, and a hot beverage. Photographers should bring their camera equipment for astrophotography. Because we will return to Artist Point at night, you must be comfortable hiking in the dark. We will get back to the Lodge very late!

This hike is part of the Tacoma Hiking and Backpacking weekend at the Baker Lodge.  Register to attend The Tacoma Hiking and Backpacking Committee  Mt Baker Lodge Retreat weekend from 8/16-8/17/19 here:
