This social gathering and celebration is specifically for Mountaineers Members who have reached Lifetime membership, celebrating over 50-years of membership with The Mountaineers or have been awarded an Honorary Membership by our Board of Directors. By invite only, this annual luncheon celebrates our legacy and honorary members with a hosted lunch.

 We are thrilled to welcome you back to our annual 50-year member luncheon to celebrate you! 

This hosted lunch is specifically for members who have reached Lifetime status, celebrating over 50-years of membership with The Mountaineers or have been awarded an Honorary Membership by our Board of Directors. 

It is a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with friends, share stories, and hear updates on the growth of The Mountaineers. You’ll hear from Mountaineers CEO, Tom Vogl, learn about the latest titles from Mountaineers Books, and enjoy a special presentation with a photographic tribute and natural history of the North American Owl.

Event Details

Lunch is on us: as a thank you for your long standing relationship with The Mountaineers. While donations are appreciated, no registration fee or donation is required to attend.

Featured Speaker, Paul Bannick: “Owl: A Year in the Lives of North American Owls”

About our Featured Speaker

Paul Bannick, 15-year Mountaineers Member, is an award-winning author and photographer who captures images to inspire curiosity and conservation. Paul’s photography has won awards from several prestigious contests, including those hosted by Audubon Magazine and the International Conservation Photography Awards.

Paul is both the author and photographer of two best-selling bird books, Owl: A Year in the Lives of North American Owls (Braided River 2016) and The Owl and The Woodpecker, Encounters with North America’s Most Iconic Birds (Mountaineers Books 2008).  In 2020 he released two new Mountaineers Books titles, “Snowy Owl: A Visual Natural History” and “Great Gray Owl: A Visual Natural History’.

His work is featured in many bird guides, including those from Audubon, Peterson, and The Smithsonian, and has been featured in a variety of publications including The New York Times, Audubon, Sunset, Nature’s Best Photography Magazine, and National Geographic online and in calendars.

An active public speaker, Paul presents dozens of multimedia owl and woodpecker programs at bird festivals, fundraisers and conferences across the continent every year.
