Youth Program

January Break Camp - Meany Lodge

Three-day snow camp at the Mountaineers' Meany Lodge!

Calling all snow bunnies!

Join the Mountaineers for a three-day overnight break camp at Meany Lodge! Kids ages 7-12 will have a blast in this winter wonderland snowshoeing, sledding, making snow forts, and playing games in the lodge.

Meany Lodge, the Mountaineers' winter sports resort near Stampede Pass, provides a bunk, delicious meals, bottomless hot chocolate, and legendary volunteer hosts. The camp staff provides direct instruction and supervision, outdoor and indoor activities, and of course plenty of games, jokes, and riddles.

Logistics

  • Transportation provided from Seattle! Drop off will happen at the Seattle Program Center at 9am.
  • Pick up: 3pm at the Mountaineers Seattle Program Center.
  • Everything is included: transportation and gear, outdoor instruction and supervision, room and board, and lots and lots of fun.

Basic Schedule

  • Thursday: check in and drive together to the lodge. Once everyone is comfortable, we'll layer up and head outside with sleds. After spending the afternoon playing in the snow, we'll warm up with dinner in the lodge, and play group games until bedtime.
  • Friday: snowshoe trip in the morning! There is so much to explore in this beautiful, forested area. Let's look for tracks in the snow and leave our own. After lunch, the group can decide on an outside activity, whether building snow forts, sledding more, or taking a new snowshoe route.  Trip leader Katie's favorite game after dinner - fishbowl!
  • Saturday: we'll move out of the lodge after breakfast and get in one more snowshoe trip and/or sledding at the Hyak Sno-Park. Campers will then have lunch and the opportunity to climb at the program center until pick up at 3.
