Summer Camp - Mount Rainier - 2021

Youth Program

Summer Camp - Mount Rainier Camping

Week 2/2 of Mountaineers Summer Camp at Mt Rainier!

Join the Mountaineers for a 3-day camping adventure at Mt. Rainier. We will be traveling up to Mt. Rainier, camping out under it’s looming gaze and practicing our mountaineering skills.  This camp is open to kids ages 10-14 and includes transportation, food, and skills lessons up on the mountain.

Campers arrive at the Seattle Program Center on Tuesday morning at 9am. We will triple check gear, pack up the cars, and hit the road. Once camp is all set up, we will have some time for adventuring before dinner. Our evening will be filled with campfire songs, stories, stargazing, and s'mores.

Wednesday is all about hiking and mountaineering skills. We will head up to Paradise, and practice snow skills on a snowfield up towards Camp Muir and/or walk a 5-mile loop around Paradise Meadow. After our long day, we will make a hearty dinner and enjoy another campfire-side evening.

Thursday begins with a big breakfast, camp cleanup, and a short skills session or walk before we all hop back into the car and head back to Seattle. We'll get back in time for some swimming at the lake or climbing at The Mountaineers. Pick up is at the Seattle Program Center at 3pm.

We hope to see you for this mountain adventure!
