Colorado Trail calling? See what it's about on Jan. 20

Are you interested in a life-list backpack on the 'crux' of the Colorado Trail? And seeing the spectacular San Juan Mountains of southwest Colorado? In August of 2013?

Come to an information session on Sunday, January 20 at 3:30 pm at the Newport Way Library to find out more.

The August 16-29 trip will be an 80 mile, 12-day adventure along the Continental Divide in an area that Backpacker magazine readers called one of their "Best Weeks Ever." The trail is miles above treeline and brimming with vistas as well as exciting nearby peaks to explore from basecamps in the Grenadiers and Chicago Basin.

Included are hotels and breakfasts—dinners before and after—a shuttle to the trailhead, an on-trail resupply, a catered trailside camp with showers midway along, and a ride on the historic narrow gauge Durango-Silverton railroad at the end.

Contact trip leader Cheryl Talbert with any questions. Directions to the Newport Way Library.
