Mountaineers help keep homeless warm
Thanks go out to those in our Mountaineers community who dropped off gear at The Mountaineers Program Center to keep Seattle's homeless warm this winter.
According to the Survive the Streets coordinator, Patti Dunn, our efforts helped to distribute 200 sleeping bags and 75 warm blankets, as well as many dozens of packs, hoodies, gloves, coats and fleece tops, to 272 homeless people.
Dunn said the 2012 gear drive "reached more guys and gals than ever before."
