Mt. Rainier Trail Restoration Day Mt

Mt. Rainer Trail Restoration Day

Oct. 6, Sat ? Longmire Area. Come bask in the vibrant fall colors as we help restore a trail that remains damaged from the flood in the Longmire Area on Saturday. Come for the day, or take the opportunity to camp at Cougar Rock Campground the last weekend it is open and go play in the Park on Sunday.

This Oct. 6th trail restoration project has been created by the Mt. Rainier National Park staff strictly for the Mountaineers, so let?s give them a big hand and show them how much we appreciate their work and the Park. All you need to bring is a pair of work gloves, eye protection (goggles or sunglasses), long sleeved shirt and long pants, boots, water and lunch. The Park staff will provide all of the tools.

If you do not have a Mt. Rainier park pass, tell the person at the gate that you are there to do volunteer work with the Mountaineers and they will let you through for free. Meet at the Martin Way P & R at 7:00 a.m. to carpool to Longmire, or be at Longmire at 9:00 a.m. by the museum near the bathrooms at the end of the Longmire parking lot. Please Contact: Bonnie Betts, 360-352-0089, bonbetts@msn.com to sign up.

On this day, we will also present our donation to Mt. Rainier National Park to assist staff in obtaining supplies for continued trail repair. This contribution was raised through the Fossil Fuel Free postcard project.
