ACHS/CHS email for 9/28/08Dear CHS & ACHS course participants,
Please read this whole email as it contains important information.
Well it's donewe've finished all our hikes for the course. I can't believe how quickly this time has come, but here it is. I completed the CHS hiking season yesterday leading a return trip to Crater Mountain with some CHS 2 folks. The day ended up being lovely and I got to see the views from the old lookout site this time. It was a bit chilly up there at 7000 feet so we ate our lunch, walked around a bit and then headed back down to Crater Lake at 5000 feet. It was warmer down there with no wind, so we sat for awhile soaking our feet in the lake, having a snack, replenishing our water supplies, listening to marmots whistling, and talking amongst ourselves. I enjoy the physical activity of hiking and the natural beauty that surrounds me in the wilderness, but I most enjoy being with friends on the trail. Sitting down at the lake and basking in the sun and enjoying the conversation of friends was the best way to end the season for me. Thank you!
Congratulations to everyone who completed their hikes this weekend and I'll see you at the graduation party next weekend!
ACHS/CHS Graduation Party
The graduation party for all three groups will be on the afternoon/evening of Saturday, October 4th. If you haven't already, please respond to the RSVP I sent out a couple of weeks ago so that we can get an accurate headcount for the evening. I look forward to seeing everyone there!
The drop-dead date for providing pictures to be included in the graduation CD is Monday, September 29th. Be sure to include the name and date of the hike in the subject line.
