South Sound Issues Course open for registration

The Mountaineers Northwest Environmental Issues Course, South Sound, will run from Oct. 18 to Nov. 15, 2006. Classes will be held on Wednesdays, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at University of Puget Sound.

Become a fully informed environmental advocate for the Northwest by taking The Mountaineers Northwest Environmental Issues Course. This course provides lectures and optional field trips designed to provide participants with the tools and awareness that they can use to protect the natural resources of the Northwest. The Mountaineers will partner with the Washington Environmental Council for this course with lectures and information supporting the four legislative priorities for a healthy Washington. These priorities will be set by working closely with the broader environmental community and will focus on promoting the protection of our land, air and water. The priorities will be announced in September.

The fee is $45 for members of The Mountaineers, $50 for non-members and $25 for students. A $10 discount is available for seniors. Registration for single lectures is also available at the door for $7 for Mountaineers members and $8 for non-members. For the standard course fees, register online at www.mountaineers.org or by phone, 206-286-8484. To get the discounted fee, you must register by phone, in person, or by mail.
