Hello Mountaineers, here's an event we thought you'd like to know about:
Greetings from the West Coast Sea Kayak Symposium!
Every September in beautiful Port Townsend, WA with the Pacific Ocean and Olympic Mountains as our backdrop the oldest and largest sea kayak symposium takes place.
This year our event is September 15 17, 2006
The Symposium is a collection of the finest kayak manufacturers, speakers, and instructors, all brought together in one place so paddlers can experience everything that is sea kayaking. It is for beginner and veteran paddlers alike, for young and old, for anyone with interest in the sport of kayaking. It's all about getting people on the water, safely and confidently.
The Symposium is held at Fort Worden State Park. The location is a 100-year old fort that has been totally restored into a living museum of the area's history, set amongst the natural splendour of the Pacific Northwest.
This year we are very happy to announce the presentation of the Reel Paddling Film Festival on Friday Night and Nigel Dennis speaking about his South Georgia Expedition on Saturday Night. Also back by popular demand is the Walrus Band!!!!!
