I was recently reminded about an online repository of Mountaineers history, thanks to Sabrina Oesterle, chair of the Seattle Branch's Under the Hills Rovers group.
The University of Washington Library has an archive of Mountaineers photos ranging from 1907 through 1951. These photos have been scanned and are available for viewing at this website. They cover mostly outings to Mt. Rainier and Mt. Olympus, with one trip to Glacier Peak.
Mountaineering may not be your thing, but these photos are an invaluable look at where we've been. You don't have to imagine a hundred people walking up Rainier in wool jackets and greasepaint - you can see it for yourself!
