**News and Events: UPDATE: Board of Trustees Election Underway Now

Wed, October 5, 2005 11:26 AM

UPDATE: Ballot counters are needed on October 19, from 6:30 - 9:00 p.m. to help with the Board of Trustees election. Pizza and sodas are provided for the 25-30 people who can help us out. To sign up as a counter, register online or call the office at 206-284-8484. Questions can be directed to Eileen Allen at eileena@mountaineers.org.

The Board of Trustees election is underway, and we need every member to cast their vote. We placed the ballot for this election on the front page of the October issue of The Mountaineer. If you didn't receive a copy, or for some other reason don't have one, you can download a copy here. Ballots are due by Wednesday, October 19 at 5 p.m. and can be mailed or dropped off.

The following is an excerpt from the President's message on the ballot:

The future of the organization depends upon the decisions made by The Mountaineers Board of Trustees. This year’s Nominating Committee, consisting of Steve Cox, Glenn Eades and Donna Price, has brought forward a highly qualified group of candidates.

Every member should consider the candidates and cast a ballot. Please read the candidates’ background and position statements (on pages 2-3 of the Go Guide) and ask questions of those who may know them. Then vote for those you think best represent you. Casting your ballot is your chance to help define the club’s future.

Do your part and vote today! It is the eve of our centennial and important decisions face the organization. Those you elect will chart the course for our club’s future during its second hundred years.
