**News and Events: Comment now to save Sno-Parks: Deadline August 12

Wed, August 10, 2005 09:45 AM

A proposed expansion of Interstate 90 in the Snoqualmie Pass area will affect two Sno-Parks popular to Mountaineers and others who enjoy backcountry skiing and snowshoeing.

Under the Washington Department of Transportation (WDOT) plan, if options A or B are taken, the Price Creek Sno-Park will be lost. Furthermore, the Cabin Creek Sno-Park will need to be expanded to allow for increased usage.

The details of the project can be found on WDOT's website. The comment period for input from the public ends this Friday, Aug. 12.

Those wishing to express their favor for replacing the Price Creek Sno-Park with a new one and expanding the Cabin Creek Sno-Park appropriately should send an e-mail to Larry Mattson, environmental coordinator for the WDOT, at mattsol@wsdot.wa.gov.
