Feathered Friends, a Seattle-based outdoor gear retailer, is hosting the 6th Annual Rockfest on June 4 and 5 in Leavenworth. Held as a gathering for the local climbing community, Rockfest features rock shoe demos, trail maintenance projects, free instructional clinics, a barbeque and a slide show by ace rock climbers Beth Rodden and Tommy Caldwell. The weekend's highlight come during a large outdoor party at the Bridge Creek group campsite in the Icicle Canyone area outside Leavenworth. This year, Rockfest is also the kick-off for Feathered Friends' grand re-opening. The store has expanded its facility and will be adding more retail space and a special events area for slideshows and presentations.
