Outdoor Adventures LLC, in partnership with the Wilderness Medical Institute of NOLS, is sponsoring a Wilderness First Aid class for individuals who are interested in taking their outdoor skills to the next level. This valuable training is ideal for those who work or play in the outdoors and is required for many outdoor professionals including Adventure Guides, Park & Recreation staff, Parks employees, Lifeguards, Boy Scouts, and Trip Leaders.
The Wilderness First Aid Course is a two program (16-24 hours) that provides students with the skills and tools to make difficult medical decisions in remote settings. The course covers a wide range of wilderness medicine topics for those who want research-based outdoor medical preparation.
Upon successful course completion students earn a WMI of NOLS wilderness medicine certification valid for 2 years. If you are currently in your "grace" (3rd) year, then don't miss this opportunity to bring your certification current. This course may also be used to recertify a Wilderness First Responder (WFR), Wilderness Advanced First Aid (WAFA), or Wilderness EMT (wilderness portion only) certification.
The Wilderness First Aid course is pre-approved by such organizations as: the American Camping Association, the US Forest Service.
