October 9 & 10 @ 7 pm
Magnuson Park Community Theater, Seattle

On October 9th and 10th, 2009, the Outdoors for All Foundation, Mountainfilm on Tour & First Ascent/Eddie Bauer are teaming up to bring world renowned climbers and award winning films to the Magnuson Park Community Theater in Seattle (7:00pm). Indulge in some pulse pounding, thought provoking and captivating films while also getting a chance to hear Jim and Peter Whittaker speak at this year’s festival.

Sit back and immerse yourself in the world of films. Imagine riding your mountain bike at full speed down a steep serpentine trail at night when the moon is a dim sliver. Follow Bonefish Charlie Smith, a one-of-a-kind character, on his journey to catch prize silvery bonefish. Then let Murray Siple share a story of a group of homeless men and their perilous descents in life and on the hills of Vancouver, BC. Watermelon growers, extreme unicycling, alpine climbs and a youth’s fight against global warming are all on the plate for the two exciting nights of films this year.

Mountainfilm on Tour is a mix of some of the best films from the Mountainfilm in Telluride film festival which is held every year in Telluride, CO. Mountainfilm features short films covering a wide array of topics. Each year, Mountainfilm attracts filmmakers, photographers, coservationists, mountaineers and explorers from around the world. In 2000, the Mountainfilm in Telluride festival embarked on a new journey - Mountainfilm on Tour. Through the festival tour, a selection of films from the international festival are taken on the road to reach audiences who otherwise wouldn’t have a chance to experience the festival in Telluride.

Thanks to a grant from the Raynier Institute and Foundation and the support of the tour by First Ascent/Eddie Bauer, all ticket proceeds from the Seattle festival will benefit the Outdoors for All Foundation. Ticket prices for the shows are only $10 each night ($15 at the door).
