Mountaineers: Seeking Board CandidatesSeeking Board Candidates
The Mountaineers is primarily run by volunteers. Classes, outings and seminars are all led by volunteers. These dedicated members make our programs happen, but who guides the organization? The short answer is: the board of trustees. A good board of trustees guides its organization, determining its policies and purposes, and sharpening its focus.
In October, members will vote to fill three open trustee seats. If you have business experience in marketing, finance and/or fundraising, we'd like you to consider becoming a candidate for the board of trustees!
Trustees have a commitment of one board meeting each month except July. Board members are expected to take on some committee work, and generally promote the organization and its goals.
If you are interested in more information about being a board trustee, or in submitting your name for consideration, please contact Bill Deters at detersluksus@comcast.net. You can also have your name submitted at the Annual Meeting on September 9.
