Feb. 2: Global Warming Activist WorkshopGlobal Warming Activist Workshop
Saturday, February 2, 2008
Sponsored by East Lake Washington Audubon and the Cascade Chapter of the Sierra Club

Global warming is a huge, overwhelming issue. Many feel something should be done, but don't know what to do . Here is a chance to learn how to take action as a concerned citizen and make a difference!

East Lake Washington Audubon and the Cascade Chapter of the Sierra Club, will host a Global Warming Activist Workshop on Saturday, February 2, 2008 , from 9 am to 3 pm at Bastyr University in Kenmore.

No experience is necessary. You will learn about the impacts of global warming, and what actions you can take. The training in lobbying skills and working with the media will have the goal of passing local, state and federal legislation.

Guest speakers, including prominent weather expert Cliff Maas, will talk about the latest on climate change, and teach you how to talk to elected officials. Practical actions to maximize your impact will be the goal. You will leave the workshop with a set of skills and tools to begin taking action in your community right away.

Cost for the all day workshop, which includes lunch and materials, is $15. A limited number of scholarships are available for those with a financial need.
