Oct. 9 - Dec. 4: Yellowstone to Yukon Lecture SeriesYellowstone to Yukon Lecture Series
October 9 through December 4
The Burke Museum at the University of Washington

This fall, the UW Program on the Environment is hosting a lecture series to complement the Burke Museum's exhibition Yellowstone to Yukon. Knowledgeable speakers from the Y2Y region, including scientists and storytellers, ranchers and grizzly bear advocates, ethicists and folk singers to help explore this region, and the Y2Y vision, in depth.

The series will be held every Tuesday evening, from October 9 – December 4, at 7 p.m. All presentations will be at the Burke Museum, except for the October 23 event with exhibit photographer Florian Schulz, which will be held at Town Hall. (There is a $5 charge for the latter; all others are free.)

The Y2Y plan, in a nutshell, is to preserve a wildlife corridor from Yellowstone all the way to the Yukon. A migration route for many animals, proponents argue that the corridor is essential to the survival of these populations.

The Mountaineers Books, a partner of the Burke Museum, publishes Yellowstone to Yukon: Freedom to Roam, a collection of photographs by Florian Schultz, with original essays by noted writers, biologists and conservationists.
