Special guest baristas join Starbucks team all week in support of Pike Place Market Foundation
To pay tribute to its roots and support the Pike Place Markets Centennial Celebration week, Starbucks Coffee Company will host iconic Seattleite guest baristas at its Pike Place Market store, including Jim Whittaker, Sue Bird, Governor Gary Locke, John Curley and Patricia Barker. The guests are joining the Starbucks team to support the Market Foundation and its efforts to serve low income populations, the Market and downtown Seattle communities. Starbucks shares a longstanding history with the market, as it is the home to the Companys first store, which opened in 1971 as Starbucks Coffee, Tea and Spices.
