Hope Place Youth Shelter - Snowshoe
Seattle Youth Outreach
Caitlin O'Brien (Qualified Youth Leader)
Hope Place is a shelter for women in recovery and their children. All of the women in residence are in recovery treatment for drug abuse, domestic violence, or sexual abuse. The Mountaineers provides an opportunity for the children at Hope Place (ages 4-18) to experience the outdoors, feel good about new accomplishments and have positive adult mentorship - all things that are lacking in their current lives. Several times a year, Hope Place youth and moms will learn how to snowshoe. We will need volunteers to help participants learn how to snowshoe, and have fun in the snow! Please sign up to volunteer!
We will take the youth and moms from Hope Place Shelter snowshoeing up at Alpental for the the morning. We will meet at The Mountaineers to carpool to Hope Place Shelter to meet the youth. We will drive up to Alpental, and head back to the Mountaineers around 1:30 pm. Please bring warm clothes, no cotton, lunch and water. If you need snowshoes, please let Caitlin O'Brien know. Thanks so much for signing up to volunteer!
