North Fork Sauk River and Mackinaw Shelter
A leisurely jaunt up a wilderness valley harboring some of the biggest trees this side of Glacier Peak. The tumbling, churning, glacial-fed North Fork Sauk River is always present in sight or in sound. Cross Red Creek on new bridge and continue to Mackinaw Shelter
Will also do the Red Mountain trail, adding 2 miles and 700 feet. Traction devices required. Post-hike repast at Omega Pizza in Granite Falls.
