Hike along the ridge crest dividing the Tunnel Creek drainage from the Dosewallips River Valley ending at a point with a splendid view of Mount Constance. (This trip may be done as a one way hike or key swap by decending to the Dosewallips River trailhead. One way distance is 7.3 miles.)
This is a beautiful, lonely trail in the Olympic National Forest near Quilcene. See the WTA description here (http://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/tunnel-creek-1?searchterm=tunnel+creek). It will involve a ferry ride so the fewer the number of cars the less expensive. Riders will share in the cost of the ferry for the vehicle as well as in cost of gas. There is the possibility of car camping overnight Saturday and hiking Marmot Pass on Sunday if folks are interested (if you are, contact me when you sign up). The trip will go on regardless of weather. Plan on stopping at Mike's 4Star BBQ (mikesfourstarbbq.com) in Port Gamble on the way home. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
