Introduction to rolling a Kayak. 3 sessions with personal coaching to get your roll started.
Introduction to Rolling:
Rolling is a valuable skill with roots back to the earliest traditions of sea kayaks. Learning to roll will not only enable you to quickly recover from a capsize, it will also help you learn how to brace (bracing is easier when you know that if you go too far you can roll up) and be a more comfortable and confident kayaker. Being able to roll is very satisfying and fun. This is a great way to learn: patient, focused instructors; clear, warm water; and 3 sessions to grow into the skill.
Wetsuits are advised (even the pool feels cold after a lot of up and down). Masks, noseplugs, goggles, and such are encouraged if you think they may aid your comfort. Snacks and drinks are encouraged. We'll have 2-1/2 hours of water time each day, so plan to burn a lot of energy and have a ton of fun.
We'll meet at 3PM each day (Sun 11/10, Sat 11/16, and Sat 11/23) in the Shoreline pool (boats enter through the North door) at:
19030 1st Avenue NE
Shoreline, WA 98155
