Rising Sun Campground


Famous for its towering mountains, pristine alpine lakes, mountain wildflowers and abundant wildlife. Also known as the "Crown Jewel" of the National Park System. The main road through the park, Going-to-the-Sun Road, has breathtaking views around every corner. There are numerous moderate day hiking trails in the park. Suggested hiking trails; The Trail of the Cedars, Forest and Fire, Hidden Lake, Sun Point, and Running Eagle Falls. All will be moderate at most.
DATES – August 9th thru 14th. Additional note to suggested hiking trails; Highline trail to Granite Part Chalet, Grinnell Glacier trail, Iceberg Lake trail, Twin Falls, and Red Rock Falls. All will be moderate at most. Also we will be photographing at Many Glacier, Lake St Mary, Logan Pass and other remote locations. Meet at the General Store near the entrance of Rising Sun campground at Lake St. Mary There will be a sign posted out front near the entrance of the campground with directions to the reserved campsites lot during the day. Park Fees: 7-Day Automobile/Vehicle Permit $25.00 vehicle/$12.00 per person Camping fees $20.00 8 people maximum sign-up Carpooling highly recommended Trip leader Paul Harrett.
