Field Trip 3 - Esmeralda Basin

07/14/13 (Sun)

Field Trip
Seattle Naturalists

Cynthia Luksus

9:00 AM

N Fork Teanaway River Road, 1/4 mi. past Beverly Campground

We'll hike at a leisurely pace and have frequent stops to study and identify plants and animals. We'll explore the basin which has open meadows, seeps, and woods.

The trail to the basin gains about 400 ft in appx. one mile and has a number of small stream crossings. Hiking poles may be helpful. The group may choose to continue hiking the trail as it switchbacks to higher, more open ground toward Fortune Creek Pass.

A Northwest Forest Pass is needed at the trailhead.

Please review Field Trip #3 information on pages 20 & 21 in your Student Handbook.

Change in carpooling: If you'd like to carpool, meet at 6:45 am at the Tibbetts Lot Park & Ride in Issaquah. It is at 1675 Newport Way NW which is the SE corner of SR 900 and Newport Way NW.

Allow 2 1/4 hours from Issaquah to the meeting point 1/4 miles past the Beverly Creek Campground.
