Field Trip 3 of the Natural World course.

DeRoux Creek

The trail is fairly level for about 1 ½ miles, passing a Shooting star-filled meadow and staying in the forest above DeRoux Creek. Then we’ll hike up switchbacks with a stop at a sunny buttress with plants that occupy open rocky spaces.

We’ll hike at an easy pace with stops to identify plants or birds and will go as far as the group chooses or snow allows.

A Forest Service trail pass is needed at the trailhead.

Please review Field Trip information on pages 20 & 21 of your Student Handbook.

Change in carpooling: If you'd like to carpool, meet at 6:45 am at the Tibbetts Park & Ride lot in Issaquah. It is at 1675 Newport Way NW, which is the SE corner of SR 900 and Newport Way NW.

Allow 2 1/4 hours from Issaquah to the meeting point 1/4 mile past the Beverly Creek Campground.
