Stevens Pass Hghy trailhead

Beautiful dream trek through the heart of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. Extremely strenuous trip averaging 15 miles per day with 3200 feet elevation gain per day. Challenging ups and down steep ridges. Continuous views of familiar peaks. Opportunity to meet numerous through hikers going northbound on the PCT. Planned campsites are Glacier Lake, Deep Lake, Escondido Ridge beyond Waptus Burn Trail, and Park Lakes Basin. Frequent water is generally available in this section of trail. Leader needs to arrange back-country permit. Early September is a beautiful period in the Alpine Lakes region with generally warm days and cold nights, but periods of heavy rainfall do occur.

Although open to all club members over age 18, this trip is also part of the B3 backpacking Building Blocks series and eligible for B3 course graduation credit. In addition, this backpack will have a practical instructional/learning focus and offer experience in proper gear use and camp set-up techniques.

Individuals interested in this trip should email the leader to get approved for participation.

Trip Co-Leader is Monty Pratt.
