Our hike to Spencer Island will start at Langus Riverfront Park on Smith Island. We'll follow a paved path along the Snohomish River to Spencer Island, a favorite destination for viewing waterfowl and shorebirds. On the island, we'll find a loop trail which provides access to wetlands, sloughs, and scenic mountain views. At the end of the hike, we'll stop to eat lunch at a picnic shelter while we enjoy the tranquil river scenery.
Kathy Biever (206-283-9047, eskay 39@comcast.net) and Julie Miller are co-leaders of the Island Hike series. Sign up online or with Program Center. Cars will be needed to reach Smith and Spencer Islands. Please let Julie or Kathy know if you're willing to transport people from Seattle or Everett Station. Bring a lunch to eat at end of hike.
