When visibility is good, the views from Artist Point are hard to beat. The track follows alongside the ski area, leads up to Austin Pass, and rises further up to Artist Point.

Avalanche risk can be mitigated with good terrain choice, but this is not a trip suitable for high avalanche danger days.

We go regardless of weather. Gear check at meeting place - must be able to demonstrate use of snowshoe. Those without Ten Essentials and proper equipment will be turned away. About 6 miles RT, 4 hours on trail, 1.200 ft gain, or are far as we go.
