National Public Lands Day is the Nation's largest hands-on Volunteer effort to improve and enhance our public lands.

Located in the Stevens Pass Historic District, the Iron Goat trail is a fully interpreted trail nearly 10 miles in length built on abandoned railroad grade. This portion of the Great Northern Railway was abandoned in 1929 and trail construction and maintenance has been ongoing for over 20 years. Currently, in addition to maintenance of the Iron Goat Trail, new hiker-only trail is being constructed into the new Wild Sky Wilderness to link the Martin Creek Trailhead with the Kelley Creek Trail.
