You’ve seen others padding Lake Union and now its your turn. Come on out and have a fun social experience and get an introduction to kayaking. It couldn’t be easier. The boats are waiting, the gear is ready for you and the leader will show you the paddle strokes. We will meet at Northwest Outdoor Center (2100 Westlake Ave. N, 206-281-9694) at 10am. Leader will arrange boat and gear rentals. Participants will pay for their rental prior to launch. For a three hour rental the cost is $39. We'll launch and complete a counter-clockwise lap around Lake Union, checking out the houseboats while enjoying inter-urban marine views most people never see. Then stopping for lunch at Gas Works Park (restrooms available). Pack your favorite lunch-you will be hungry. Then return to launch spot. Total trip time 3-4 hours.
