Course Description:

The Introduction to Leading Bolted Routes Course is a program of classroom instruction designed to equip students with the fundamental technical skills and experience necessary to safely lead climb well bolted single pitch routes.

Instruction Topics:

• Belaying/rappelling/cleaning/equipment
• Clipping techniques
• Route risk assessment
• Clipping
• Face climbing techniques
• Leading a route

Requirements: You MUST be comfortable climbing top rope at a 5.9 level Schedule: Class meets January 11th, 18th, 25th, and 31st,and February 7th at the Magnuson Program Center from 6-9pm. Concepts covered include leading techniques, cleaning and rappelling, building top rope anchors and climbing techniques. You will be more comfortable and have more fun with this class the more top rope climbing experience you have. So get out there and climb!
