Course Description:
The Introduction to Leading Bolted Routes Course is a program of classroom instruction designed to equip students with the fundamental technical skills and experience necessary to safely lead climb well bolted single pitch routes.
Instruction Topics:
- Belaying/rappelling/cleaning/equipment
- Clipping techniques
- Route risk assessment
- Clipping
- Face climbing techniques
- Leading a route
Requirements: You MUST be comfortable climbing top rope at a 5.9 level Schedule: Class meets January 11th, 18th, 25th, and 31st,and February 7th at the Magnuson Program Center from 6-9pm. (please note that the first three dates are Fridays, the last two dates are Thursdays) Equipment: Harness, rock shoes, chalk bag, belay device, 6 quickdraws, 2 personal anchors, cordelette, 3 locking biners.
