This is a M2G application tour for Glacier Travel graduates. Please see prerequisites at end of narrative. Day 1 we will climb to the Hogsback camp below the Coleman Gl and take afternoon runs off Heliotrope Ridge. Day 2 we will tour east across the Coleman and Roosevelt glaciers to Cockscomb ridge. After return to camp we will tour to ridge above Grouse Creek and descend GC to the car. This is an opportunity to plan a glacier tour and discuss and apply travel and risk management techniques appropriate to the terrain. While the terrain is predominantly intermediate, advanced ski skills and the ablility to ski in control are required. You should be comfortable skiing 35d (black run) firm snow with an overnight pack for the descent into Grouse Creek. If bad weather, we will shift to 6/29 & 30. PREREQUISITES- You need to have completed the glacier travel/crevasse rescue or the basic climbing courses.
